Family Yoga Day

Yoga is one of the best ways to build and maintain flexibility and stay calm and relaxed. Grab your mats and join us for a relaxing hour of beginner’s Yoga. A light, healthy treat will be provided.

Apple Fest

We celebrate apple harvest season by learning fun facts about apples, America’s favorite fruit. One of the Storyland characters will stop by to read the classic folk tale, “Johnny Appleseed,” which is based on an actual person. We’ll have a fun apple pie craft, and we’ll finish up with a slice of the real thing.

Spookyland

Join the sometimes spooky but friendly staff at Storyland for a night of old-fashioned Halloween fun. This event will feature a cake walk, craft activities, apple bobbing, pumpkin balancing races, trick or treating, fun photos and much more. Costumes are encouraged – no scary costumes as this will be a family friendly event.

Fall Breeze, Autumn Leaves

Why do the leaves change colors and drop from the trees in the fall? We'll learn all about it as we read, "Leaves Fall Down," by Lisa Bullard. For craft time, we'll use a fun painting technique to create beautiful fall leaves. A pumpkin-flavored snack will round out the fun.

Crazy Hat Day

Grab your favorite crazy hat--the weirder and wackier the better and join us as we share our creative headwear. One of the Storyland characters will stop by to read, "Hats Are Not for Cats," by Jaqueline K. Raynor. We'll finish up with a crazy snack.

Veterans Day

Join us as we honor those who have served our country. We'll read, "Veterans: Heroes in our Neighborhood," by Valerie Pfundstein for a deeper appreciation of the many brave service men and women who are also our family, friends, and neighbors. We'll create cards of appreciation that you can give to a veteran you know, […]

Dirt: The Scoop On Soil

To dig into this subject, we'll create a sediment jar that will allow us to see all the different layers of soil. We'll read as well as give away the book, "Dirt: The Scoop on Soil," by Natalie M. Rosinsky. We'll end by shoveling up edible "dirt" cups using a variety of tasty treats to […]

A Squirrel’s Thanksgiving Celebration

Squirrels are very busy this time of year preparing for winter.
